MBBS Admission Andaman and Nicobar Islands Eligibility Criteria

  1. Lower Age Limit: For Candidates of General (UR)/General-EWS ,SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD Category – born on or before 31.12.2006
  2. The candidate must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology at the qualifying examination as mentioned in the Regulations of NMC.
  3. In addition, they must have got a rank in the merit list of NEET (UG) – 2024 for admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses.
  4. In respect of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes, or Other Backward Classes (NCL), the minimum marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology are taken together in the qualifying examination shall be 40% marks instead of 50% marks for Unreserved and General-EWS Candidates.
  5. In respect of PwBD candidates as per NMC Regulations, the minimum marks in the qualifying examination in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (or Botany & Zoology)/Biotechnology taken together shall be 40% instead of 50%. Admission will be made strictly based on rank /merit obtained in NEET UG2024.

    • ST Certificate issued by the competent authority (in the standard format as specified in the prospectus/information bulletin) and it should be in English or in Hindi language. Subcaste should be clearly mentioned in the certificate. Some of the States insist for English version of Caste certificate. In case the certificate is in region all language the candidate should carry attested translated copy of the certificate in English/Hindi.
    • OBC(NCL) certificate issued by the competent authority. The sub-caste should tally with the Central List of OBC. The OBC candidates should not belong to Creamy Layer to claim OBC reservation benefit.
    • Economically weaker section (EWS) Income and Asset certificate
    • Person with Disability certificate

This will be subject to the condition that the candidates in this category have studied the last 02 years in the Islands and passed the qualifying examination from a school in the Islands. Class XI and XII certificate is to be attached to support the claim.
6 EWS Quota The benefit of reservation under EWS can be availed upon production of an Income and Asset Certificate issued by a Competent Authority. The Income and Asset Certificate in the prescribed format shall only be accepted as proof of candidates claim as belonging to EWS. (EWS certificate issued by the Competent Authority)
7 Other Backward Class Candidates OBC(Non Creamy Layer) candidates claiming relaxed eligibility criteria
